Biography

An academy graduate with an eye for space, Lucas Zamora is an exciting young back on the books at ASM Clermont Auvergne. Born on 29 November 2004, the French outside back is known for his pace, evasive running and attacking flair, equally at home on the wing or at fullback. A product of Clermont's own development pathway, Zamora progressed through the Espoirs ranks to push for senior involvement, the reward for steady improvement and a willingness to learn the demands of professional rugby. His game is built on the threat he carries in broken play — the ability to beat a defender, support a break and finish chances — allied to the work off the ball that earns a coach's trust. At this stage he offers depth and an offensive spark, often introduced to inject energy and ask fresh questions of tiring defences. The Top 14 is an unforgiving environment in which to graduate, but Zamora has the natural attacking tools to make an impression. The task now is consistency: turning flashes of promise into the reliability that converts a talented prospect into a regular fixture in the Clermont matchday squad.
