Biography

Luke Cowan-Dickie is an experienced England hooker, born on 20 June 1993, whose carrying game has made him one of the most recognisable front-row forwards of his generation. He built his senior profile at Exeter Chiefs before continuing his career in the top flight of club rugby, and he has been capped repeatedly by England. A physically imposing hooker, Cowan-Dickie is at his best when attacking the line. He is a heavy-impact ball carrier able to break tackles close to the ruck, and he has long been a try-scoring threat from short range on rolling lineout mauls and pick-and-go phases. His work-rate in defence, aggressive breakdown presence and willing scrummaging round out a profile built for modern Test-match forward play. With England, he has been a key component of multiple Six Nations campaigns, including the 2020 title-winning group, and has featured in senior Red Rose matchday squads across successive autumn international windows. At club level he was central to Exeter Chiefs' most successful era before moving on in the next stage of his career. Cowan-Dickie remains one of the more physically distinctive hookers in the English game and a senior voice within any front-row unit he joins.
