Biography
A product of Fiji's rich forward tradition, Luke Tagi is a flanker who marries genuine power with athleticism in the back row. Born on 23 July 1997, he now turns out for Aviron Bayonnais in France's Top 14, where his physical presence and breakdown work make him a valuable disruptor. Tagi previously featured for the Fijian Drua, an experience that sharpened his explosive tackling and his appetite for the contact area. His strengths lie in aggressive defence, strong carrying and an ability to compete for turnover ball, all of which make him a nuisance for opposition forwards. At Bayonne he serves as a key link between the pack and the backs, using his mobility to get involved across the width of the field. Whether chasing down attackers or hitting rucks with intent, Tagi brings the kind of relentless energy and ball-winning instinct that Fijian loose forwards are renowned for, adding bite and dynamism to his club's effort up front.
