Biography

An Australian flanker born on 3 August 2003, Marley Pearce has grown into a regular presence in the Western Force forward pack since making the step up to senior Super Rugby Pacific rugby. Pearce is defined by his relentless work rate, a forward who keeps turning up across the field to make tackles, hit rucks and apply pressure at the breakdown. His tackling and his knack for winning turnovers have made him a valued component of the Force's defensive structure, and his youth means there is clear scope for his game to keep expanding. Like many modern flankers, he is expected to contribute in the carry as well as in defence, getting his side onto the front foot and competing for every loose ball. As one of the younger members of the Perth-based franchise's back row, Pearce represents an important part of the team's longer-term planning, a combative and energetic loose forward whose development the Force are investing in as they build towards being a consistently competitive side.
