Biography

Coming through at perennial French heavyweights Stade Rochelais, Maxence Ligeron Borg is a flanker born on 5 February 2007. As one of the youngest forwards on the books at La Rochelle, his development is taking place inside one of the most demanding pack-oriented environments in European rugby, where breakdown intensity and physical confrontation are the daily currency. Ligeron Borg fits the mould of a modern loose forward, prioritising defensive graft, support play and the contest for turnover ball. The teenage back-rower is at the foundational stage of his career, focused on building the strength, conditioning and game understanding required to push toward senior selection at a club stacked with experienced internationals. Representing the academy production line at Stade Rochelais, he is part of the next wave of talent the club hopes to integrate, and his trajectory will depend on the steady accumulation of physical maturity and competitive minutes. Developing at a club of La Rochelle's standing brings both opportunity and pressure, with young forwards measured against a roster of seasoned internationals on a daily basis. Ligeron Borg's task is to keep absorbing that environment, sharpening the breakdown craft and physical edge that will give him a chance of breaking into senior contention in time.
