Biography
Pace has always been Monty Ioane's calling card. Born in Australia on 30 October 1994, the winger qualified for Italy and has become a reliable attacking outlet on the Azzurri's flanks. Quick, elusive and dangerous in broken play, he is a persistent try-scoring threat who has produced several memorable finishes in the Six Nations. His primary role is to convert chances out wide, but his counter-attacking ability and willingness to chase kicks also make him valuable in transition, turning defensive moments into attacking opportunities. Strong under the high ball and difficult to contain when given space, Ioane provides Italy with genuine cutting edge in the back three. As one of the more experienced wings available to the national side, he offers both a scoring option and a measure of reliability to a developing Italian backline. His combination of finishing instinct and aerial work has made him a regular fixture on the wing for Italy.
