Biography
Saracens academy graduate Olamide Sodeke is an English back-row forward making his way into the senior set-up at the StoneX Stadium. Born on 26 July 2005, the flanker is among the next wave of young forwards the club has promoted from its development pathway. Sodeke's frame and carrying profile lean him toward blindside duties: he is built for short, square contact carries and the heavy defensive shifts that come around the ruck. Saracens have used him in cup competition and in their second-string fixtures as he gathers Premiership-level exposure, and the coaching staff have spoken approvingly of his work ethic in training and his willingness to take on the dog-work that defines a back-five forward's week. Operating inside a Saracens back row that has historically set the standard in the Premiership, Sodeke's challenge is the same as that facing every young flanker at the club: to convert academy promise into consistent, hard-edged senior performances. The pathway is well-trodden — the StoneX has produced several England-capped forwards through it — and Sodeke fits the profile the club tends to develop. His progression across the coming seasons will hinge on accumulating senior matchday minutes and continuing to add range to his carrying and breakdown game.
