Biography

Born on 16 May 2002, Oli Burrows is a Welsh blindside flanker who has come through the Dragons academy to feature for the region in the United Rugby Championship. He is a hard-edged, physical forward whose game is built on energy in defence and a strong presence at the breakdown, qualities that have also earned him selection for Wales at Under-20 level. Burrows brings genuine industry to the Dragons pack, getting through a heavy workload of tackles and contributing to the team's set-piece and contact effort. A product of the regional pathway, he represents the kind of home-grown forward the Dragons have looked to develop and trust with senior minutes. The step up to United Rugby Championship rugby is a demanding one for any young forward, exposing him to seasoned international opponents on a weekly basis. Still early in his career, the Wales age-grade international is working to add consistency and physical maturity to his game. If he can build on the platform of his early appearances, Burrows has the profile of a forward capable of pushing for a more permanent place in the Dragons matchday squad.
