Biography
Flanker is among the most physically demanding roles in rugby, and at Northampton Saints that responsibility increasingly falls to emerging forwards such as Ollie Scola. Born on 3 February 2006, Scola is a young back-rower working his way through the levels at one of England's most established clubs. His game is built around the essential, often unseen, duties of the position: making tackles, competing for possession at the breakdown, and offering tireless support around the field. As a flanker, he is expected to be a constant irritant to opposition ball-carriers while also acting as a link who keeps phases moving for his own side. Scola is still early in his senior development, following a familiar path for a forward of his age as he builds the conditioning, set-piece detail and decision-making required to compete for regular selection. His progress reflects Northampton's continued commitment to developing its own forward talent and giving young players a genuine route towards the first team.
