Biography

Pierre Henri Azagoh has developed into a dependable lock for Stade Français Paris, bringing genuine physical presence to the heart of the Parisian pack. Born on 25 July 1998, he progressed through RC Massy before joining Stade Français in 2019, and he has since amassed close to 90 appearances as a regular member of the second row. Azagoh's game is founded on the core virtues of his position: power in the carry, hard defensive work and the unglamorous graft of the tight exchanges, allied to a contribution at the lineout and in the scrum. His standing as a prospect was underlined when he was part of the France side that won the World Rugby Under-20 Championship in 2018, and he was later called into the senior France squad for the first time by Fabien Galthié in 2021, going on to earn a small number of Test caps. At Stade Français he has become a consistent contributor in the engine room, valued for his reliability and physicality across a long run of seasons. With his durability and set-piece grounding, Azagoh remains an important part of the club's forward rotation.
