Biography

One of the promising young forwards on Castres Olympique's books, Robin Boyer is a French back-row forward looking to make his mark in the Top 14. Born on 23 March 2005, he represents the next generation of talent coming through at the storied French club. Boyer is built in the mould of a modern loose forward, blending a strong work rate with a willingness to put his body on the line in defence and at the breakdown. His game centres on the fundamentals that earn a young player trust at senior level: tackling with intent, competing for turnover ball and carrying directly to give his side go-forward. Developing within a club renowned for its uncompromising forward play, Boyer has an ideal environment in which to harden his game against the rigours of France's top division. The challenge for any emerging back-rower is to add consistency and physical maturity, and Boyer is steadily building the experience required to compete for regular minutes. As he progresses, the young Frenchman will be aiming to establish himself as a fixture in the Castres pack and a reliable contributor in one of European rugby's most competitive leagues.
