Biography
Few wingers in the Premiership carry the sevens credentials of Rodrigo Isgro, who joined Harlequins in 2024 after a celebrated career in the abbreviated game. The Argentine was named World Rugby Men's Sevens Player of the Year in 2023 and won an Olympic bronze medal with Los Pumas Sevens at the Tokyo 2020 Games, establishing himself as one of the most dangerous attackers on the circuit. Capped by Argentina in the fifteen-a-side game, he transferred that explosiveness to the English club scene, marking his Harlequins debut with two tries against Bath. Isgro is a powerful, direct runner who combines strength through contact with the evasion and support lines of a sevens specialist, making him a potent finisher out wide. His physical, abrasive style has occasionally tipped over the disciplinary line, including a suspension during the 2024-25 season, but it is the same intensity that makes him such a handful for defences. At Harlequins he provides genuine attacking edge in the back three, capable of finishing in the corner or beating the first defender to spark a counter. His arrival added international pedigree and a proven match-winner to a backline that thrives on fast, expansive rugby.
