Romain Gardrat

A product of the Union Bordeaux Bègles academy, Romain Gardrat is a French flanker who has graduated into the senior ranks of one of the Top 14's most ambitious clubs. Born on 31 December 2003, the back-rower built his reputation on relentless defensive effort and a willingness to compete for possession at the breakdown — qualities that translate well to the physical demands of the French top flight. Gardrat offers energy and abrasiveness in the loose forwards, working hard in the tackle area and contributing as an industrious presence around the field. Still in the early stages of his career, he forms part of Bordeaux Bègles' investment in home-grown talent, providing depth and competition in the back row as he develops alongside the more experienced internationals at the club. With a strong physical foundation and a high work rate, he is regarded as a forward capable of carving out a regular role as he matures into the professional game.
