Biography
Ronan Caule Duler is a young French back-row forward on the books at Aviron Bayonnais, the Top 14 club from the heart of the Basque country. Born on 7 February 2007, he is one of the prospects progressing through the Bayonne development pathway, an environment with a long reputation for producing combative, hard-edged forwards in keeping with the club's identity.
As a flanker, his game centres on the demanding fundamentals of the position: competing for possession at the breakdown, putting in a heavy tackle count, and providing support lines in the loose. Forwards coming through the Bayonne system are schooled in the physical, confrontational style that has long defined rugby in the south-west of France, where intensity at the contact area is valued above almost everything else.
At this early point in his career, Caule Duler is focused on building the consistency and physical conditioning needed to make the step up to regular senior rugby in one of Europe's toughest competitions. His progress will hinge on opportunities within a deep and competitive back-row rotation. He represents part of the next generation of forwards the Basque club hopes to develop through its academy, and he will look to push for senior involvement as he matures physically and adds to his experience in the professional game.
