Biography

Italy international Ross Vintcent, born on 5 June 2002, is a back-row forward at Exeter Chiefs whose breakthrough season earned him Test recognition in 2024. The Premiership flanker established himself in Exeter's matchday squad on the back of a strong work rate and a willingness to carry hard into traffic — traits that translated quickly when he was promoted into the Italy senior set-up. Vintcent's game is defined by what happens between the set-piece moments: aggressive line speed in defence, repeat-effort cleanouts at the breakdown, and short-range carries that punch through the first line of defenders. He is comfortable across the back row but has been used most often as a flanker, where his physicality at the contact area is best deployed. His debut for Italy was the standout moment of his career to date and reflected both his form for the Chiefs and the Azzurri's ongoing investment in younger forwards. At club level, he has become a dependable rotation option for Exeter's pack as the club continues to refresh its squad following its title-winning era.
