Ruhan Nel

Born on 17 May 1991, Ruhan Nel is a South African centre who has become a fixture in the Stormers midfield. His game is built on direct, powerful running and the ability to consistently break the gain line, qualities complemented by a robust and well-organised defensive presence. Nel was part of the Stormers squad that lifted the inaugural United Rugby Championship trophy in 2022, and he has also earned international recognition with the Springboks. Comfortable at both inside and outside centre, and capable of covering the wing, he offers his coaches genuine flexibility across the back division. Within the side he acts as a dependable defensive organiser in the midfield channel, marshalling those around him and providing a reliable source of front-foot ball for the runners outside him.
