Biography

An Auckland-based scrum-half with the Blues in Super Rugby Pacific, Sam Nock was born on 18 June 1996 and is an experienced halfback operating across one of the Southern Hemisphere's most competitive professional competitions. The Blues carry a long history as one of Super Rugby's most decorated franchises, and their number nines are tasked with managing tempo at the base of the ruck, organising the kicking game and directing the forward pack through the phases of Super Rugby's fast, high-contact template. Nock's journey through the New Zealand provincial system has given him broad exposure to the demands of the game in Aotearoa, where halfbacks are expected to combine sharp service with composed game management against the rest of the Super Rugby Pacific conference. Now into his late twenties, he represents the experienced layer of a Blues halfback unit that cycles through senior players and emerging academy options across a demanding campaign of trans-Tasman and New Zealand derby fixtures.
