Biography
Few roles demand as much unseen graft as that of the hooker, and Sean Henry has spent his career supplying it for Connacht. Born on 16 December 1987, the Ireland-qualified front-rower is a set-piece specialist whose accuracy at the lineout throw and steadiness at the scrum anchor much of his side's forward platform. Around the field he is a busy, abrasive presence, getting through a heavy work rate in the loose and adding ballast to the breakdown and the carry. Experience is central to his value: as one of the more seasoned figures in the squad, Henry brings the calm, the technical know-how and the leadership that a front row leans on through the attritional phases of a match. His throwing remains a dependable source of clean lineout ball, while his physicality ensures he is never a passenger in the tight exchanges. Whether starting or providing senior cover from the bench, he offers Connacht a reliable, low-maintenance operator in the most specialised of forward positions.
