Biography
Siua Maile is a Tongan international forward who has plied his trade with Benetton Treviso, the Italian club competing in the United Rugby Championship. Born on 18 February 1997, Maile combines the physical power characteristic of Pacific Island forwards with the discipline required by the cross-border URC. Capable of operating in the back row, he brings robust defence and tenacity at the breakdown, contributing energy and ball-contesting ability to the Benetton pack. Representing Tonga on the international stage is a notable thread of his career, marking him out as a forward who has tested himself at Test level as well as in club rugby. At Benetton he has been part of a side that has worked to raise the standard of Italian club rugby and provide a competitive presence in the URC against established Irish, Welsh, Scottish and South African opposition. Maile's contribution is rooted in the physical side of the game: making tackles, competing for turnover ball and adding ballast to the forward effort. Powerful and committed, he represents the kind of abrasive, internationally seasoned forward who strengthens a pack and brings hard-edged experience to the demanding environment of cross-border European competition.
