Biography
Tadhg Furlong, born on 14 November 1992, is one of the world's premier tighthead props and a cornerstone of both the Ireland and British & Irish Lions packs. Widely regarded as the benchmark at his position, he combines an immovable scrum with a remarkable passing and carrying game more commonly associated with a back-row forward. A product of Wexford club rugby and the Leinster academy, Furlong has been central to Ireland's most successful era, contributing to Six Nations Grand Slam triumphs in 2018 and 2023 and a historic series win in New Zealand. He has toured with the Lions on multiple occasions, starting Test matches in both 2017 and 2021. His signature strengths include dominant scrummaging, deft offloads and decision-making in wide channels that make him a genuine playmaker from the front row. A respected senior figure in the Ireland squad, Furlong provides leadership, standards and a physical platform that underpins much of his team's success.
