Biography
A double Rugby World Cup winner with the All Blacks in 2015 and 2019, Tawera Kerr-Barlow brings considerable big-match experience to Stade Français Paris in the French Top 14. Born on 15 August 1990, the New Zealand scrum-half built his reputation in Super Rugby with the Chiefs before moving to French rugby, where his game management and physicality at the base of the ruck have made him a valued operator.
Kerr-Barlow combines a sharp pass with a willingness to snipe through opposition forwards in defensive transitions. His kicking game is well-rounded, allowing him to put the back three to work and relieve pressure from his own twenty-two. In defence, he is uncompromising around the breakdown and reads attacking patterns well, often anticipating the next phase before it develops.
At Stade Français, the veteran No. 9 has taken on a senior leadership role, dictating tempo and mentoring younger half-backs in the squad. His presence on the field gives the backline a steadying voice in tight matches, particularly when game state demands composure and decision-making rather than ambition.
