Biography
A hooker by trade, Teddy Baubigny is a front-row forward at RC Toulon, one of the most decorated clubs in French rugby. Born on 2 September 1998, the Frenchman occupies one of the most technically demanding positions on the field. The hooker shoulders responsibility for the set piece, throwing into the lineout and anchoring the scrum, while in the modern game also being expected to operate like a back-rower in the loose, hitting rucks, making tackles and carrying ball. Baubigny is known for his energy around the field, an attribute that has long defined his style and made him a notably mobile presence for a front-rower. Having developed through the French system, including representative rugby in his younger years, he brings competitive experience to the Toulon front row. At a club that prizes a powerful, abrasive pack, his contribution lies in providing set-piece reliability and bringing dynamism in general play. Now in the established years of his career, Baubigny's value comes from combining the core technical duties of the hooking role with the work rate of a forward who looks to be involved across the eighty minutes, supporting Toulon's pursuit of silverware on both the domestic and European fronts.
