Biography
A product of the Scarlets academy, Tiaan Sparrow has emerged as a promising back-row forward for the Llanelli-based region. Born on 17 November 2005, the young Welshman brings powerful ball-carrying and a high work rate at the breakdown to the Scarlets pack. He earned recognition at age-grade level, representing Wales at Under-20s, and has since pushed for first-team opportunities in the United Rugby Championship. Sparrow is often deployed as an impact forward, injecting fresh energy and carrying threat in the closing stages of matches, where his physicality can unsettle tiring opposition defences. Still in the early phase of his senior career, he is regarded as one of several back-row prospects coming through the Scarlets system, combining the abrasive defensive edge expected of a modern flanker with the mobility to contribute across the park. As he continues to develop, Sparrow will look to convert his promise into a more regular role within a competitive Scarlets forward unit, building the consistency and physical maturity that the professional game demands of its loose forwards.
