Biography
A seasoned international with a reputation for ferocity, Tolu Latu brings frontline experience to Stade Rochelais. Born on 23 February 1993, the Australia-capped hooker built his name in Super Rugby with the Waratahs before taking his abrasive style to the Top 14. Latu is known for his aggressive ball-carrying, his appetite for the physical battle, and his ability to contest turnovers at the breakdown -- an unusually disruptive presence for a front-rower. He won 19 caps for the Wallabies, establishing himself as a Test-level operator before moving to French rugby. At La Rochelle he offers hard-earned experience and genuine impact, whether starting or arriving off the bench to add ballast to the set-piece and confront opponents on the gainline. His combination of throwing duties, scrummaging and open-field aggression makes him a valuable squad member for a club accustomed to competing at the sharp end of European rugby. Latu remains a player defined by his physical edge and competitive intensity.
