Tom Spring

Tom Spring is a French back-row forward developing his game with Aviron Bayonnais. Born on 26 September 2002, he is part of the younger group at the Top 14 club, working to translate potential into senior opportunities. Spring's strengths are rooted in the physical side of the game - energetic defence, carrying in the tight channels, and a high work rate around the field. Back-row forwards of his type are asked to cover plenty of ground and contribute at both the breakdown and the set piece, and it is in these areas that he is building his reputation. At this stage of his career the focus is on earning trust within the squad and adding the consistency that converts promising performances into regular selection. As one of Bayonne's developing forwards, Spring offers the club useful depth and an industrious option for the future of its pack.
