Biography
Among the emerging forwards in the Blues' system, Tristyn Cook is a young New Zealand loose forward born on 18 December 2004. The flanker is working his way towards regular Super Rugby Pacific exposure. Cook's game is built on the traditional virtues of a New Zealand back-rower: a high work rate, strong tackling and effectiveness at the breakdown. He looks to disrupt opposition possession, provide support in attack and bring defensive intensity, embodying the hard-nosed qualities that have long defined the position in New Zealand rugby. As one of the younger players in the squad, his immediate focus is on physical development and earning the trust required to feature consistently at senior level. The Blues have a strong tradition of producing loose forwards, and Cook is part of the next wave hoping to follow that pathway. With continued growth, his energy and appetite for the contest give him a platform to push for greater responsibility in the seasons ahead.
