Biography

Explosive off the mark and difficult to bring down in the open, Vinaya Habosi is a Fijian wing who joined Racing 92 in 2023 and gives the Paris club a genuine game-breaker out wide. Born on 30 January 2000, Habosi came to prominence with the Fijian Drua during the franchise's early Super Rugby Pacific campaigns, where his blend of raw power, footwork and acceleration quickly made him one of the competition's most eye-catching attacking talents. That combination travels well to the Top 14, a physical league in which his ability to beat the first defender and finish in the corner is a valuable weapon. At Racing, Habosi functions as a primary attacking outlet: strong enough to run through contact yet elusive enough to leave defenders grasping, he offers a direct, line-breaking threat whenever the ball reaches the edge. Like many Fijian outside backs, he also brings danger from broken play and kick returns, where his instinct to counter can turn defence into attack in an instant. Still in his mid-twenties, he continues to round out the defensive and positional sides of his game as he adapts to European rugby. For Racing 92, though, his core appeal is clear — a powerful, dynamic finisher capable of producing the moments of individual brilliance that win tight matches.
