Biography
Vincent Koch is one of South Africa's most decorated tighthead props of the modern era. Born on 13 March 1990, he has forged a career defined by longevity, set-piece excellence and a decorated run in the green and gold of the Springboks.
Koch is a powerful, technically refined scrummager whose low body height and immense core strength have made him a handful for looseheads across both hemispheres. He spent a long and highly successful spell at Saracens in the English Premiership, where he was part of a front row that dominated domestic and European competition, before returning to South African rugby with the Sharks.
With the Springboks, Koch featured in the squads that won back-to-back Rugby World Cup titles in 2019 and 2023, adding elite international honours to his club achievements. He is trusted by national head coaches for his ability to steady a scrum in the closing stages of tight Test matches.
At the Sharks, Koch brings hard-won experience to the front row and a championship mentality to daily training. He is exactly the type of senior forward a squad leans on when the margins tighten.
