Scrummaging is the foundation on which Wilco Louw has built his reputation, and at the highest level it remains his calling card. Born on 20 July 1994, the powerful South African tighthead has earned multiple Springbok caps, valued by his coaches for the ability to win set-piece dominance against elite opposition and anchor the tight five in the biggest matches. Louw established himself in Super Rugby before a spell in the Premiership with Harlequins, where he tested his scrummaging against a different style of front-row play. He later returned home to the Bulls, bringing experience and set-piece authority to the Pretoria pack. His game is grounded in raw strength, technical scrummaging and the kind of physicality that defines top-class tightheads.
