Biography

Will Hobson, born on 9 November 2002, is a young back-row forward in the Harlequins squad, listed as a flanker. Still in the early years of his senior career, he is part of the next generation of loose forwards being developed at The Stoop. Hobson's game is shaped around the staple traits of a modern flanker: high tackle counts, aggression at the breakdown, and the lung capacity to chase kicks and support carriers all over the field. He competes for jackal turnovers when isolation opportunities arise and provides defensive line speed off the ruck. Harlequins' style of play — one of the most ball-in-hand attacks in the Gallagher Premiership — places extra demand on back-rowers to handle, offload and work between phases, and Hobson fits the mould of a footballing flanker who can contribute in the wider channels. Operating within an experienced forward unit, Hobson continues to develop his physicality and tactical reading. His role for now is that of an emerging back-row option pushing for more senior game time as the Quins look to refresh their loose forward stocks.
