Biography

Xavier Numia is a powerful loosehead prop born on 29 November 1998, who has become a dependable part of the Hurricanes' front-row rotation in Super Rugby Pacific. Of Samoan heritage and New Zealand-born, he has built his reputation in the Wellington region as a strong scrummager with the work rate to contribute across the field. Numia's game combines set-piece stability with the carrying ability and athletic edge that modern looseheads are expected to bring. He plays with physicality at the collision and supports the Hurricanes' attacking shape with hard, direct running off the ruck. Capped at age-grade level and a regular feature in the Hurricanes' match-day squads, he forms part of New Zealand's deep front-row talent pool. As he continues to add experience and consistency at Super Rugby level, Numia is well placed to push for further international recognition while remaining a key building block for the Hurricanes' tight five.
