Biography
Yestyn Cook is among the most promising front-row prospects to come through the Scarlets academy. Born on 17 August 2006, the prop has caught the eye with his blend of scrummaging strength and surprising mobility for a tight forward. His core value lies in the set-piece, where he provides stability and power, but he also carries hard in open play and gets through plenty of work around the field. Cook's emergence is a reflection of the Scarlets' commitment to developing homegrown front-row talent, an area in which the region has invested heavily with an eye on the future. As a young forward still learning the demands of senior rugby, he is at the start of his journey, but the foundations - physical strength, work ethic and the willingness to get involved - are firmly in place. For the Scarlets, he represents an exciting long-term option in a specialist position where depth and quality are always at a premium, and his development will be watched with interest.
